Melanie has come a long way in just a few years
Just 23 years old and loving her new career as a PE teacher, Melanie Woods thought she knew what her future looked like. And it certainly didn’t include competing at the Tokyo Paralympics in a wheelchair.But life can change in a second, as she discovered when a passing car knocked her off her bike in January 2018.
Melanie realised at once that her injuries were serious. “The paramedic kept asking me to wiggle my toes. When I couldn’t, I knew what that meant.”
