Within minutes of being welcomed into the gorgeous home of Made In Chelsea star Emily Blackwell and her boyfriend Jordan Alexander, it's impossible not to compare them to a pair of love-struck teenagers! Longing stares, hand-holding and reassuring shoulder rubs - it's clear we're in the presence of a young, but very real, love.
The couple, who've mixed in the same posh Surrey friendship circles for some years now, transitioned from casual acquaintances to official couple status last August. Now, as they approach their first anniversary, Emily, 27, and recruitment company managing director Jordan, 32, are settled in their rather plush split-level Fulham apartment, boasting two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a wonderful entertaining space.
And not only that, they've picked out their baby names and are already planning their nuptials. This pair don't hang around!
"I was actually looking forward to being single for a 'hot girl summer'," says Emily, reflecting on their unexpected romance. "My plan was to stay single for two years and work on myself."
Jordan laughs, "Then I rode in on my big white horse and ruined the whole plan!"
It was during an evening out to celebrate a mutual friend's birthday last summer when sparks flew. "Previously we were always in relationships with other people," Emily reminisces. "The timing was never right. When we met again that night we hadn't seen each other for a couple of years. The rest is history."
Jordan adds, "I made sure we saw each other a lot after that evening. Emily was a bit guarded at first, but I'm a very chilled, go-with-the-flow person. I haven't got time for playing games or being messed around, but she's not like that at all.
"She's so down-to-earth; what you see is what you get. I really like that. I thought, 'Right, I'm really attracted to her, and she's cool - there must be a catch.' But there wasn't."
