A beaming Carol Kirkwood celebrated the start of 2024 as a newlywed, after tying the knot with policeman Steve Randall in a “perfect” Christmas ceremony.
The much-loved BBC weather presenter, 61, delighted fans when she announced the happy news that she and Steve, 48, had exchanged vows on 27 December at Cliveden House in Buckinghamshire.
“It was the most perfect and romantic and intimate wedding. We are both so incredibly happy,” she gushed when reflecting on their low-key ceremony at the magnificent 17th-century country pile.
In snaps from their special day, Carol, who has been a regular face on our screens since 1998, stunned in a beautiful off-the-shoulder satin dress as she clutched a simple-but-stylish bouquet of white roses. Steve, meanwhile, looked dapper in a black suit with a silver tie and a coordinating white rose pinned to his lapel.
Taking to social media, former Strictly Come Dancing star Carol wrote, “Thank you so much for all your lovely messages. We had the most perfect day. It was a tiny wedding but so romantic and intimate. A day we will never forget. We are bursting with happiness. It wasn’t a ‘secret’ wedding, just a private one.”
Celebrity pals rushed to congratulate the newlyweds, with Carol’s one-time BBC Breakfast co-star Dan Walker penning a particularly heartfelt tribute.
“Congratulations to Carol and Steve. Steve is one very fortunate gentleman and Carol is the best of us all,” he said. “She is kind, caring, brilliant at her job and a wonderful person to be around. I wish them every happiness in their new life together.”
