The heavens may have decided to open after a blistering heatwave, but it was clear from the moment we arrived at Danny Miller and Steph Jones's wedding that nothing was going to put a dampener on their big day.
From spectacular fireworks and a first dance with a twist, there were plenty of surprises in store for their guests. But first came the couple's ceremony, which took place in the grounds of the beautiful Nunsmere Hall Hotel in Cheshire.
As the pair were set on getting married outside, Danny and friends Marcelle and Chris Proctor pulled out all the stops at the last minute to have a stretch tent erected to keep everyone dry.
And former Emmerdale actor and last year's I'm A Celebrity... winner Danny later revealed in his speech that the couple had actually picked the venue after doing their first OK! shoot in the grounds and falling in love with it.
"I wouldn't have changed a thing, even the weather," says Danny, 31, who played Aaron Dingle in the soap. "What I thought was going to ruin the ceremony was a blessing in disguise because it ended up looking intimate." Midwife Steph adds of the day which was coordinated by wedding planner Samantha Bradbury from Moor Connections - "It was perfect. Apart from having Albert, it was the best day of our lives."
The 140 guests were led to the tent just before 2pm to take their seats, while Danny, who was wearing a beige and charcoal three-piece suit from Pal Joey, and his best men Chris Gooch and Dan Jillings made their way to the end of the lantern-lined aisle.
Meanwhile, Danny's ushers - who included his former Emmerdale co-star Adam Thomas and former Coronation Street actor Ryan Thomas, as well as his brother Paul, dad Vince, Steph's dad Barry and brother Sean, and friends Adam, Jake, Dean, Ash and Azz - looked dapper in suits by Marc Darcy.
