THERE are bad reviews — and then there’s the brutal reception With Love, Meghan got. Following the March 4 release of the Duchess of Sussex’s Netflix cooking and entertaining series, the 43-year-old’s critics had a field day. On top of social media users’ hot takes — “cringe,” “staged” and “basic” were among the blistering assessments — Time declared it “a dusting of flower sprinkles that can’t hide the blandness of the cookie.” Former Vanity Fair editor Tina Brown got personal: In her Substack newsletter, Fresh Hell, the Princess Diana biographer declared the Suits star turned duchess “has never figured out a convincing persona. Masquerading as an influencer, she’s the ultimate follower.”

Despite the negativity, the series, produced by Meghan and her husband Harry’s Archewell enterprise managed to snag the last spot on the streamer’s Global Top 10 Shows list with a reported 2.6 million views its first week. While technically good news for the Sussexes’ bottom line, it was hardly a balm for the embattled couple. Now sources tell Star that the California native’s desperate attempt to make it as a lifestyle entrepreneur has become a nightmare for Harry as he resents the scrutiny on his new life with Meghan and their children, Archie, 5, and 3-year-old Lilibet. Worse, insiders say the 40-year-old also fears the kids will become tools to build his wife’s brand. “He’s desperate to shield their children from all the online haters and backlash,” says an insider. “But he’s powerless to stop it.”
