RUSSELL BRAND tried to get ahead of it. Before the Sept. 15 release of a damning report in which multiple women accused the 48-year-old of rape, sexual assault and abuse, the comedian posted a video to social media denying what he termed “very serious criminal allegations.” After insinuating that the investigation by The Sunday Times, The Times of London and Channel 4’s Dispatches was a smear campaign against him, the Get Him to the Greek star stated that at the time of the alleged attacks, between 2006 and 2013, he was “very, very promiscuous” and declared that the relationships in question were “absolutely always consensual.”
