It’s been 23 years since Jeff Probst attended his first Tribal Council as the host of the CBS competition reality series Survivor, in which contestants attempt to outsmart, outplay and outlast one another while stranded on an island for the grand prize of $1 million. So it’s only natural that he’s absorbed a lot about what makes people tick. “I get this front-row seat to human behavior,” says the Emmy-winning star, 61, who also serves as executive producer of the hit show. “One of the things I learned from Survivor is that everybody has a story. A little empathy goes a long way.”
