Madonna has lived a life. And to celebrate her 66th birthday, the music icon chose a historically significant location to party – and one that allowed her to get in touch with her Italian roots: the ancient site of Pompeii. The superstar singer and her six children travelled to the city for festivities fit for the Queen of Pop.
According to The Telegraph, Madonna toured the city’s Teatro Grande, a Roman amphitheatre, spent time with youths involved in a community project that she funds and enjoyed an exclusive dinner catered by the three-Michelin-starred restaurant Quattro Passi. It was just what the birthday girl needed, more than a year after she survived a life-threatening bacterial infection.
