When it comes to Hollywood's leading men of today, Brad Pitt is in a league of his own. "He's one of the last remaining big-screen movie stars," the actor's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood director and friend, Quentin Tarantino, has said of Pitt. "It's just a different breed of man. And frankly, I don't think you can describe exactly what that is because it's like describing star-shine."

The 59-year-old's Hollywood origin story is almost as famous as he is. Pitt arrived in town in his Datsun in the late '80s, having left the University of Missouri just two credits shy of a journalism degree, ready to give in to his love of films.

Driving limousines, while he attended acting classes and auditions, Pitt finally got his big break in a small but memorable role in 1991's Thelma and Louise, in which he had a one-night stand with Geena Davis' character. "That was my entry into the big leagues, I guess," the actor previously told W Magazine.
