Use Handoff in FaceTime calls

You can now switch between iPhone, iPad, and Mac mid-call

1 Preview image 

You’ll see a preview of your camera image before you confirm.

2 Mute or no image

You can mute the mic or turn off the camera before completing a switch.

3 Switch or Join

On the Mac, the Switch command is replaced by a Join button.

4 Invite everyone

You can invite others by sharing a link before confirming the switch.

How to use Handoff during a FaceTime call

FaceTime, along with its competitors Zoom and Teams, came into its own when we were all stuck at home during lockdown. When we couldn’t leave the house, being limited to using only one device during a call wasn’t a problem. Now that we’re back to being able to come and go, swap home for office and back again, and socialise with friends in real life, it’s more of an issue.
