NEW CRIME DRAMA
Beyond Paradise
Friday, 8pm, BBC1
TV&Satellite Week is standing on the beach in the Cornish coastal town of Looe on a late September afternoon. The sun is shining, the sea is dazzlingly clear, and we’ve just eaten a delicious hot pasty – you could almost say we’re in paradise.
Appropriately enough, we’re here to visit the set of Beyond Paradise, BBC1’s six-part spin-off from Death in Paradise, which follows DI Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall) – formerly the lead investigator on the fictional Caribbean island of Saint Marie – during a new chapter in his life as he and his fiancée, Martha Lloyd (Not Going Out’s Sally Bretton), relocate to the (also fictional) town of Shipton Abbott on the Devon-Cornwall border.
