tv+ Women in Blue NEW Available: Wednesday 31 July Genre: Crime drama Season: 1 Eps: 10 (first two eps from 31 July, then weekly)
Set against the vibrant backdrop of 1970s Mexico City, Apple TV+’s glossy crime drama Women in Blue tells the story of four trailblazing women who join the city’s first female police squad while a terrifying serial killer is on the loose.
Inspired by real events, the first of this week’s two episodes opens in 1971 with a murderer dubbed ‘The Undresser’ eluding capture. Under public pressure, police chief Emilio Escobedo (Christian Tappan) announces he’s employing women for the first time, in a ploy to deflect from damning news reports and distract the city’s scared citizens.
Among those to sign up is stifled housewife María (Bárbara Mori), who is reeling from the recent discovery that her husband is cheating on her.
