NEW COMEDY DRAMA
Doc Martin Christmas Day, 9.05pm, ITV1
After 18 years on our screens, Doc Martin bowed out recently with an emotional finale that saw the prickly medic decide to stay in Portwenn rather than take a prestigious job in London.
Now, the cast are reuniting for one last visit to the Cornish village in a special Christmas episode.
The Doc’s Grinch-like attitude to the festive season alienates his son, James, while he also manages to infuriate the locals by shutting down the grotto when Santa (Ron Cook) develops a rash. There are also some comedy moments with a live turkey, and Mrs Tishell finally plucking up the courage to kiss the Doc under the mistletoe.
