NEW CRIME DRAMA
Beyond Paradise
Friday, 8pm, BBC1
Beyond Paradise was an instant hit with viewers last year as it followed Death in Paradise's eccentric DI Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall) and his fiancée Martha Lloyd (Sally Bretton) as they began a new life in the fictional Devon town of Shipton Abbott.
The spin-off series returns this week as Humphrey and his colleague DS Esther Williams (Zahra Ahmadi) get caught up investigating a death during a murder-mystery event on a steam train.
Meanwhile, Humphrey and Martha embark on an exciting new journey of their own as they apply to become foster parents.
TV&Satellite Week caught up with Marshall and Ahmadi to find out more...
How excited are you to be back for a second series?
Marshall We’re thrilled. We were very lucky that Beyond Paradise was the BBC’s most-successful new drama last year, so the leash is let out a bit for this series – the show has grown more confident.
What was it like filming the first episode on a real steam train?
