The Season 5 finale of Virgin River was a dramatic affair, as California nurse practitioner Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) went with bar-owner boyfriend Jack (Martin Henderson) to meet her biological father, Everett.
And as the small-town romantic drama returns, the new season will tell the love story of Mel's mother Sarah and the young Everett.
Flashing back to the 1970s, the story reveals how Sarah (Jessica Rothe), a free spirit from the big city, met drifter Everett (Callum Kerr) when he gave her a lift in his camper van, and quickly fell for the handsome singer-songwriter.
