WOMAN OF STONE
CHRISTMAS EVE, 10.15PM, BBC2 THRILLER
Adventure classic The Railway Children is one of the most- beloved children’s books of all time. But its author E. Nesbit also penned some eerie tales, and master of the macabre Mark Gatiss has adapted one of them, thriller Man-Size in Marble, for his seventh A Ghost Story for Christmas.
Set in the 1880s, BBC2’s Woman of Stone centres on newly-weds Jack (The Sixth Commandment’s Éanna Hardwicke) and Laura Lorimer (rising star Phoebe Horn), who have moved from London to a cottage in the country. There is already trouble in their marriage as Jack is jealous and dismissive of his wife.
