Between them, Waking the Dead’s Tara Fitzgerald and Silent Witness star Emilia Fox have a wealth of experience solving crimes on the small screen. Now, the acclaimed actors team up to play sisters in Drama’s Italy-set mystery series Signora Volpe.

The three-parter sees Tara as English expat Isabel Vitale, who lives in picturesque Umbria with her Italian husband, Matteo (Matteo Carlomagno), and their daughter, Alice (Issy Knopfler).

Emilia is Sylvia Fox (‘volpe’ is the Italian word for ‘fox’, hence the title), who takes a welcome break from her job as a high-ranking MI6 spy to jet out to Italy to attend niece Alice’s wedding. However, trouble seems to follow Sylvia wherever she goes, and when the groom turns up dead, she takes it upon herself to investigate.
