DEAR Curly GIRLS

For the love of natural hair

What I love most about rocking my natural hair is the fact that I can allow my natural curl to flourish. Would you believe I never knew my natural curl pattern until I was in my 30s? I feel authentically me while rocking my natural hair. It's a very liberating feeling.

Curly girl must-haves

I am obsessed with Aunt Jackie's Quench Leave-In Conditioner. It's a light leave-in, so it's perfect for Summer. A great combo is the Ice Curls glossy curly jelly used with the Frizz Patrol mousse from Aunt Jackie's Grapeseed collection. It's the perfect duo for shiny, popping curls and it doesn't weigh my hair down.

A summer staple

The basis for any style is a healthy clean scalp. If I feel my hair needs a really great cleanse, I'm going to use Power Wash shampoo from our Grapeseed collection, or Oh So Clean from the Curls & Coils collection. This is followed by a few drops of biotin, rosemary and mint Elixir oil directly to my scalp. The Elixir

oil helps with hair growth and assists in maintaining hair retention. Once I've massaged it into my scalp, I'll rinse thoroughly and then deep condition with Rescued or In Control. To style I will use Quench leave-in and then either a gel, cream, mousse, or combo. It depends on the style I am going for. Maintaining your natural curls is hard work, but it's worth it!
