The name Chaumet may be new in Malaysia's luxury jewellery scene with a recently established boutique at The Exchange TRX, but the Maison has since 1780 been the crown jewel of Parisian elegance as the jeweller of choice for emperors and empresses. Empress Joséphine was the Maison's first high-profile client and she still serves as muse of the house in a role bestowed to her for over two centuries, inspiring the artistry of Chaumet creations with her grace and free spirit in equal measure.
As French history would attest to, she ascended to the apex of aristocracy with Napoléon as the regal couple. Not only greatly admired as a woman of power, she was emulated as the fashion icon of her time the original French It-girl, so to speak ruling and reigning with her impeccable taste and influential style.
