CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT THE EXACT MOMENT YOU FIRST FELL IN LOVE WITH FASHION?
Ever since I was a kid, I knew I loved fashion. I already loved dressing up, and checking my parents’ wardrobes because they got to keep vintage clothes from when they were teenagers. I think what also pushed me to dress up is watching chick flicks. I remember I would find 2000s clothes in the thrift shop when I was in high school, and I’d be so happy. Going home from shopping, I would wear them, and think how I look nothing like those movie characters.
Before, I felt sad that I didn’t look “2000s model pretty,” but now, I find it funny. I guess the real exact moment that I fell in love with fashion was visiting Japan. People on the streets of Japan would wear rare pieces, and they would walk in them looking so effortlessly beautiful. I also loved that, in their culture, nobody would really care about whatever piece of clothing you’re wearing. Everybody is very carefree and doing their own thing.
