ABUKAY BEACH HOUSE
Picture this: You’re comfortably sitting near the shore, watching the sun glinting off the crystal-blue sea while you feast on exquisite seafood dishes—that’s no doubt a heavenly experience that Abukay Beach House can deliver in Siargao.
Before it became an al fresco dining spot that offers the best seafood on the island, it was once a mere beachfront rest house. But owner Len Coro, who is a Siargao native, saw its potential. In a matter of years, the beach house became a rentable homestay and, eventually, a seafood restaurant.
“One of the times na umikot kami in Del Carmen, we ate in this house—sobrang sarap ng food, so we asked them if they wanted to collaborate with us since the rentals were not making that much money because of the pandemic,” Coro recalls. “We also realized that there was no seafood restaurant sa Siargao.”
