AERO SOUTH AFRICA 2023

The third edition of AERO South Africa aviation trade show at Wonderboom National Airport that was staged from Thursday 6 to Saturday 8 July was an outstanding event that provided the opportunity for aviation professionals from all walks of the business to get together showcasing their businesses.

In my opinion, this important aviation exhibition was a significant success and I believe with the correct marketing AERO South Africa will at least double in size next year as more aviation businesses realize the importance of marketing their business's not only to the significant audience of visitors, but also via media outlets such as African Pilot. Over the three days of the show there were 60 exhibitors including 14 international exhibitors that occupied 6123 square metres of space on the ramp at Wonderboom National Airport. A total of 2981 trade visitors from 21 countries attended over the three days of the show. A total of 116 aircraft and helicopters flew-into the event.

What impressed me this year was the large outdoor marquee that had plenty of seating and an excellent public address sound system that was used extensively for exhibitors and visitors to engage in stimulating conversations with renowned experts in the General Aviation industry. The daily schedule was packed with insightful sessions from our exhibitors that delved into the latest innovations and explored various captivating topics.

The success of the fly-in option was evident as a significant number of pre-registered participants took advantage of this exclusive offer. Their presence enhanced the vibrant atmosphere of the event, fostering valuable networking opportunities and creating a dynamic exchange of knowledge and experiences. I personally met several of my pilot friends that took this opportunity to visit the show, flying to Wonderboom in their private aircraft and some helicopters.
