The Jabiru J430 high wing with long and sleek winglets makes this aircraft stand out on an airfield. The long tail boom results in more elevator and empennage authority, reducing the stall speed and increasing directional stability.
This aircraft combines the best of both flying characteristics with quick take-off of around 150 metres and an impressive climb rate of 1000 feet per minute (sea level) cruising at 120 knots and landing at slow stall speeds of 45 knots this aircraft is the aircraft for getting in and out of small runways without compromising the cruising speed.
The gentle and predictable stall characteristics, together with light and responsive controls, make the J430 a true pleasure to fly. With an average of 400 kgs usable load, when fully fuelled, the piston engine sips fuel (Mogas or Avgas) at an average of 23 litres per hour giving an endurance of 700nm with no reserves. When first viewed externally, the aircraft size can be misleading, but once you enter the cabin you will be pleasantly surprised at how much space is available. The rear door on the left side makes entry and exit extremely easy with no wing to climb on or step required. Individual fresh air vents are provided for each passenger.

The grand finale with the Puma Energy Flying Lions T6 Harvards was simply beautiful and I saw several spectators with tears in their eyes as they expressed their happiness for the airshow.
