Sometimes people live with a house for months or even years before making changes, while others snap up a property and power on through the renovations. That was the case for Clare and Jack Laurance, who bought this dignified old Edwardian house at the end of 2020. They stayed on in their old home, just a few streets away, putting renovations into the capable hands of Camilla Kelly of The Mint List, who turned the build around in an impressive six months.
The house was unremarkable and unloved, with valuable space taken up by a garage. The owners love to entertain and so wanted plenty of room for that. ‘They wanted an Eames-style, mid-century look, which was right up my street. The brief was to connect the various spaces in a more satisfying and logical way, with a real sense of warmth,’ explains Camilla.
