EVERYONE'S BEEN WONDERING what would replace the 5711, a model from the Nautilus collection that has been a catalyst for the Geneva manufacture's recent release of "explainer videos talking about supply issues ("because it takes time to train humans") and that the brand does not have a "star watch" (discussing the overwhelming popularity of this particular model).
So here it is, suffixed "G" (Patek Philippe's code for white gold), the brand's latest Nautilus reference 5811/1G-001 has a 41 mm white-gold case, 1 mm bigger than the steel ref. 5711. That said, on the surface, the new Nautilus looks a lot like the old Nautilus but the esteemed watchmaker dives deep into the roots of the model, going back to the original 3700 released in 1976.
