LEON FOO KNOWS HIS COFFEE. If his name doesn’t ring a bell, his caffeinated pursuits certainly will. The entrepreneur has been championing specialty coffee in Singapore and Malaysia since 2009 through coffee roaster Papa Palheta, rebranded as PPP, and Chye Seng Huat Hardware café.
There is no doubt that both have become institutions in the beverage scene and are spoken about with a lot of passion. So, it was only natural that Foo would eventually move into the coffee capsule ecosystem, when he opened his company Morning in 2018. He isn’t trying to replace Nespresso. Instead, he wants to bring the specialty elevated coffee experience home.
We spoke with Foo about how his Morning has progressed so far.
