On my journey to Freyburg, I stopped at Naumburg, a little town in the state of Saxony- Anhalt. This led me to discover a magnificent structure, The Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul, which is nothing less but extraordinary. Its four main towers stand tall and can be viewed from a distance. What fascinates me most is that this basilica was once the fundamental part of the High Middle Ages. Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is visited by thousands of tourists all around the year. Characterised by a good mix of Romanesque, Gothic and Neo architecture; the stained-glass murals and the sculpturesque figurines make this monument one of a kind. This vivacious edifice mirrors vicissitudes in spiritual practices and the advent of nature and science in the exemplary arts.
