ACEL was founded by best friends Aarna Salla and Sufia Lambrou. The duo decided to go into business together in the summer of 2021. “We had to do a Community Activity Service (CAS) project, so I decided to do a thrift store with Aarna”, says Sufia, “we started selling our old clothes. It did so well that soon we ran out of clothes to sell.” “We used all that money to start our brand. We got a tailor, the fabrics, and we just started making clothes that we really like,” adds Aarna. Today, as ACEL takes its first step into the world, the duo, in a candid conversation, share the transformative journey and talk about their vision for the future…

So who is the designer and who is the marketer? 

Aarna: We do it together. It is a two-man thing. We both sit and coordinate what we like and come up with the designs. Then we figure out a way to market it together.
