Van Cleef Arpels’ fondness for nature has spanned over a century. The French luxury jeweller presented its first floral creation in 1907 as a charming Daisy clip. Since then, the maison has committed to developing a refined and highly recognisable style imbued with creativity, culture, and poetry.
The result has been a garden of wonders nestled within a delicate universe, exploring natural themes through figurative and stylised pieces. Whether wildflowers of the forest or humble garden blooms, alone or in bouquets, Van Cleef Arpels has enchanted the world with its tribute to the vitality of flora in motion. The Frivole collection, first presented in 2003, continues this creative tradition devoted to beauty with its elegantly luminous corollas comprising necklaces, bracelets, earrings, clips and even watches.
Even as Van Cleef Arpels continues to refine the Frivole collection, these magnificent graphic creations have retained signature cohesion throughout the years. A cherished mirror-polishing technique creates petals that gleam with remarkable intensity, hand-polished to perfection by skilled artisans. Since 2020, the delightful blooms have evolved from polished jewellery to embellished creations with diamonds of various sizes alongside coloured stones all the while offering homage to the positive vision of life so dear to Van Cleef Arpels.
The brilliance of bejewelled creations further accentuates through openwork, whereby master jewellers pierce the gold structure, creating gaps to enable light to filter through the stones. The result of these different traditional techniques highlights the natural brilliance of embedded jewels and pure metals in a stunning tribute to the majesty of nature.
