The exhibition in Capella Singapore was a work of art. The space housing the Beautés du Monde collection was divided into five thematic rooms, the Grand Ballroom and the exhibit’s centrepiece. The Cultural World, World of Wildlife, Mineral World, Special Orders and Diamond & Centre Stones rooms housed a fraction of Cartier’s 200-strong collection.
Taking after the Madrid installation, which was likewise designed and orchestrated by renowned Spanish artist and designer Jaime Hayon, the exhibition treated guests to an experience of light and colour, with rounded arches breaking up the visual space and drawing the viewers’ eye to elements within, creating a moment of exploration and discovery that culminated in the Beautés du Monde collection.
The star of the exhibit was, of course, Cartier’s High Jewellery collection. The Beautés du Monde collection took the brand’s values of open-mindedness, curiosity and ability to admire beauty in everything, elevating them even further. To be able to see beauty wherever it may be and transform it into a design—be it in the tension of lines, the geometry of nature, the coiling of snakes into a flamboyant necklace, or the scales of an iguana turned into a complex matrix— Cartier’s delicate eye for detail once again delivers masterpieces.
