I would never have thought Spike Jonze’s 2013 film Her would be possible. Was it foretelling the future, the near future, to be exact? In the movie, Joaquin Phoenix’s character Theodore Twombly is a lonely and heartbroken individual who falls in love with Samantha, an artificially intelligent virtual assistant, pretty much like Siri in an iPhone. Can technology make us fall in love?
Welcome to the world of AI. TechTarget defines Artificial Intelligence (AI) as “the simulation of human intelligence processes by machines, especially computer systems”. AI has developed so fast and in many fields that it is hard to catch up. This technology can be used for various business purposes, entertainment, design, art, etc. It is truly a wonder and a worry. Ask Elon Musk.
The most talked about AI nowadays is ChatGPT. According to ZDNet, it is “a natural language processing tool driven by AI technology that allows you to have human-like conversations and much more with the chatbot”. It was developed by OpenAI and was launched in November 2022. What’s excellent about ChatGPT is that it can handle the work of marketers, researchers, coders, writers, journalists, social media influencers, accountants and others. ChatGPT is widely used now, and according to an analysis by Swiss bank UBS, ChatGPT is “the fastestgrowing app of all time.” Launched only late last year, ChatGPT had 100 million active users in two months.
To put it in perspective, it took nine months for TikTok to reach 100 million users, and Tiktok is a social media giant. They even make it easy. You can sign up for ChatGPT by visiting their website, chat. openai.com, and creating an account. Simple.
