IF you go down to the woods today... you might just find yourself transported to a magical winter wonderland.
Winter Woods is back in Glencruitten this year as part of the Oban Winter Festival, featuring light projections, installations and mystical characters around every corner to delight visitors.
"The Winter Woods is one of the highlights of the festival," says Pamela Lockhart, one of the event organisers. "There are snow machines and bubble machines, extra interactive lights this year and lots of interactive things for children."
Throughout the woods, actors in costume hide, waiting to entertain with tall tales and performances, while further down the trail you'll find food and drink stalls and a marquee of craft and face painting stations.
"It's really popular, and people just go round and round. It's not just for kids, either - adults come on their own just to look at the lights and maybe get a cup of coffee. I stop to give directions and they say 'Yes, we know. We've been round already - this is our third time!""
