Everyone wants to be a millionaire (or billionaire - aim high!), but not everyone has what it takes to get there, or the idea to get there. At the age of 17, Kyle Deever almost died and from that moment on he knew he had to make money. Not only to change his life, but to help change others. He went from being in almost $200K worth of debt to a couple million in net worth in the span of a year and a half through his window company. He is living proof that anyone can do it, but you have to have the desire to succeed and not be lazy.
While all of the big Hollywood stars love Kyle’s attitude and have appeared on his podcast now, we spoke one-on-one with Kyle to find out how he made his millions, how social media can help companies scale, and more secret tips for all of us looking to get there!
Let’s start off with first... What did you do with the first million you made?
What I did with my first million may seem boring to most but to me it meant everything. When I started Performance Windows with my partner Lei Henrie, I was deep in debt. A series of failed entrepreneurial ventures had left me struggling to get by. Robbing Peter to pay Paul was an understatement. I was $130,000 in bad debt. I remember I even had a 26% interest loan on my truck tires! So, as I made money, I paid down all of my debt. After that, I started spending a little bit of fun money but the vast majority of it went towards investing in myself. I started my own production company where we provide professional social media content to small and large businesses. I have always been a firm believer that the best investment I could ever make will be in myself and in businesses that I have a passion for.
