Last Train
Last Train say their new album, iii, feels like the beginning of the band. The French quartet's third certainly has the air of a fresh start - an ambitious, expansive rock record that mixes pugilistic, QOTSA-style riffing, Nine Inch Nails moodiness and epic atmospherics that nod to Sigur Rós - but they are far from newcomers. Despite the fact they're in their late twenties and early thirties, they are already veterans in band years, having formed the group when they met in high school.
"We started this band when we were twelve!" frontman JeanNoël Scherrer says with laugh, talking to Classic Rock with drummer Antoine Baschung. "Our friendship is so important.
We started the band because we were friends, not because we could play music, we just wanted to do something together."
