THREE-D MERCURY

A new exhibition focusing on the history of Queen and captured by Brian May with his stereoscopic (3-D) cameras is set to run in central London until September 23.

Titled ‘Queen Will Rock You In 3-D’, it pulls together images taken by the guitarist on stage, behind the scenes and more, including informal shots taken on the road and during leisure time, providing close-up glimpses of the band as they have never seen before.

From an early age, stereo-photography enthusiast May travelled with a 3-D stereo camera in hand, and on Queen tours and during recordings he was able to capture rare behindthe-scenes moments of one of the world’s greatest rock bands. These images are brought to life in three-dimensional glory via the ingenious OWL stereoscopy viewer designed by May himself.
