ERLING Haaland and Harry Kane are a special breed, aren't they? Hardly a week goes by where the pair don't find themselves on the scoresheet or in the headlines, destroying records and overcoming history with ease. Their efficiency is only improving and the goals are flying in ever more regularly.
The Norwegian and the Englishman are both in double figures already this season.
Kane picked up the Golden Shoe award last season, recognised as the leading scorer in Europe, as well as in the Bundesliga.
Joint with five others, he also topped the scoring charts in the summer's European Championships despite heavy criticism for his performances and plentiful calls for him to lose his place in the England team. It's a measure of his effectiveness and handy knack of hitting the back of the net even when far from his best.
Remarkably at the age of 31, with many swift to decide his career was over in the summer, he has come back better than ever and continues to improve his outputs year on year.
Haaland, meanwhile, won the Premier League's Golden Boot for the second year in a row in only his second season in the league, despite injuries preventing maximum performance. It looks like he's keen to make it a hat-trick this time around and, let's be fair, he knows a thing or two about them.
He reached 100 City goals in the recent draw against Arsenal; matching the fastest man to achieve the feat at one club Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid and doing it at a considerably younger age.
He's scoring at a faster rate than either Ronaldo or Lionel Messi at this stage in his career and all trends suggest he may go on to usurp their numbers - which we thought were unbeatable.
