The Seals boss was left beaming at his most recent piece of transfer business after luring Chester-born defender Connell Rawlinson to the Deva Stadium from League Two Notts County.
And the 30-year-old boss believes the experienced defender encompasses everything he wants the club to represent as they seek a route back in to Non-League’s topflight.
“We have a group with all the attributes that our passionate supporter base demand from a Chester team,” McIntyre said on Rawlinson’s unveiling.
“Our group understand what it is to represent this club and we are determined to deliver in the months ahead.
“Connell will really upskill the group and I expect his leadership qualities to be massive.
“We now have the personnel to be flexible in a back three or a back four and have several players who are extremely comfortable in multiple positions.
“This was always going to be important in a smaller group.”
