Neal Ardley came up against his former side at the LNER Community Stadium, after departing the Moors on the verge of the National League season.
There was no love lost for the City boss, who was full of praise for Andy Whing's side ahead of kick-off, as his new club fought back to claim a draw on home soil.
"We gave them hardly anything in the first half," Ardley said. "Other than the first 15 minutes of the second half, where we weren't at the races, it was a game of opposites.
"That's what cost us the game, it's a common theme, we're averaging two goals a game conceded. We're only ever going to be in the bottom four or bottom six when that happens.
"There's anxiety, and trying to get 11 players to not play with anxiety isn't easy.
