WONDROUS Wrexham took their points total for the season to the 100 mark with this latest thumping, this time over poor Oldham Athletic.
Paul Mullin smashed his fourth hat-trick of the season while goals from Eoghan O’Connell and man-of-the-match Elliot Lee capped another five-star afternoon for the Red Dragons, who went back to the top of the table, three points clear of Notts County with a game in hand.
“It was another superb performance from the whole team,” manager Phil Parkinson said. “Paul Mullin showed once again what an accomplished striker his is, Elliot Lee was outstanding, but to be honest I was just as pleased with the goal from Eoghan O’Connell’s goal as they’re the ones that set you up to win games.
“We spoke at half-time about the fact that we had given them a lifeline with that late goal but I’m pleased to say that the lads took everything on board and that third goal gave us back control.”
