A LAST-MINUTE goal from Luke Duffy gave Macclesfield the win on the opening day of the season. Worksop dominated the first half, but the Silkmen dragged themselves back into the game to gain all three points.

The Tigers had the first big chance of the game as captain Hamza Bencherif nodded down for his centre back partner Luke Shiels whose half-volley went wide.

Macclesfield responded with a chance of their own as Justin Johnson floated cross was almost perfect for Danny Elliot but the striker couldn’t get on the end of it.
