Gloucester director of rugby George Skivington couldn’t rub the wry smile off his face post game. He said: “It was tough, it always is coming to Newcastle, they are very gritty, and the storm coming in was always going to make it a real tough challenge.
“We prepared well, the boys did really good prep all week. We talked about what we face and they addressed it. Was it pretty? No, is there things we didn’t quite execute? Absolutely.
“But coming to Newcastle, in those conditions, and win, you’ve got to be pleased with that.”
