Bath-born Reid had his most consistent season for the blue, black and whites in 2022/23, scoring six tries from 19 appearances.
No Bath player made more dominant tackles than his 16, while he averaged a respectable 4.6 metres gained per carry.
However, with his good mate Alfie Barbeary nearing a return to fitness and adding to Bath’s already fierce back row competition, Reid knows he cannot afford to rest on his laurels.
“I just want to keep building on what I did last year. I have set two key areas for myself – I am trying to be more dominant in the tackle and more dominant in my carrying,” the 25-year-old said. “We’ve spoken as a team about post-contact metres and the best teams with the best attack and best speed of ball have higher post-contact metres than where we currently sit.
“So it is partly about me wanting to improve my own game and getting picked for the weekend, but also what’s going to add to the success of the team. I have been working a lot after sessions with numerous coaches.”
Andy Robinson’s return to the club as contact coach and academy manager has been welcomed by Reid.
