With New Year's Eve 2025 today, Ahmedabad city police are set to ensure safe and peaceful celebrations. Their main focus will be on catching drunk drivers and eve-teasers. But this year, they're also teaching young people, especially men, how to behave properly during the festivities.
DCP Zone-1, Balram Meena, told Mirror that they held a meeting with 38 hotel owners, managers and security in-charges. They were told to make public announcements before the celebrations, especially to youngsters and men, on how to behave respectfully. "We have also emphasised the need to ensure the physical fitness of security personnel deployed during the events. We have advised them to monitor elements who may cause trouble, particularly those who could pose a threat to women and young girls attending the parties," said DCP Meena.
