Jaya Deshmukh (in pic above), the newly appointed director of MICA, negotiates a deal to set up world-class smart classes in the morning. Just as she finishes her directorial duties, she rushes back to wear a student's hat, attending 90 minutes of online classes and tackling 20 books for a project submission at Cambridge University's hybrid master's degree programme in Artificial Intelligence (AI) Ethics and Society!
After three decades of experience in top-notch global firms, Deshmukh, 51, didn't hesitate to go back to the classroom. She recognised the need to upskill, not only to remain relevant in the future job market but also to learn about AI and include it in MICA's curriculum. She wakes up at 5 am, studies for two hours, dons the hat of a director, and calls the shots to make MICA a better place. Then, she returns to her campus home to become a student again, burning the midnight oil!
