CEPT Uni makes organisers dance to its garba IP tunes

Varsity takes legal action over event named 'CEPT DESIGNER MANDLI'

As Navratri festivities continue to grow in popularity, the importance of brand identity in the garba scene is becoming an increasing concern. Take the case of Ahmedabad-based CEPT University, which recently issued a legal notice to a garba organiser who had planned an event called "CEPT DESIGNER MANDLI."

Following the legal notice, the organisers cancelled the event and provided an undertaking not to use "CEPT" in any future events. They relaunched the event with a completely different name - "Prachin Garba & Mandli" - at Palm Greens Club.
