In a relief to owners of gaming and entertainment zones, the state government has decided to issue licences according to the old GDCR provisions. As a result, gaming and entertainment zones across the state are expected to reopen by Diwali.
The provisions in the new GDCR regarding BU permissions and margin rules will apply only to new applicants. Existing gaming and entertainment zones will need to focus on fire safety regulations in order to obtain licences. Gaming and entertainment zones located in shopping malls and complexes will also benefit from this decision.
