The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) busted two factories manufacturing mephedrone, one in Bhiwandi in Thane district of Maharashtra and another in Dahej in Gujarat and seized banned drugs worth Rs 831 crore.
According to ATS sources they recovered 10.96 kg of semi-liquid mephedrone and 782.26 kg liquid mephedrone worth Rs 800 crore stored in barrels. Another raid was carried out at Alliance pharma company in Dahej and liquid Tramadol worth Rs 31.02 crore used to make Tramadol tablet was seized. Pankaj Rajput, the chief chemist-cum-operator of the company, was arrested.
