Is Anand, once known for its educational institutions in Gujarat, becoming a hub for supplying fake mark sheets to those seeking to settle abroad? Recent incidents suggest this may be the case. On 19 June this year, the Special Operation Group (SOG) apprehended Siddhi alias Ricky Shah, Bhavin Patel, and Mehul Rajput, seizing 90 forged mark sheets from reputed institutes.
Earlier, in December 2020, Kanu Rabari, Aditya Patel, and Hiran Sathan were also caught for similar offences, providing fake mark sheets and other certificates to foreign aspirants.
Most recently, on October 21, the SOG of Anand arrested Kiran Patel from Shekdi village in Petlad town, confiscating 199 fake mark sheets, rubber stamps and forged certificates of Sardar Patel University in Vidyanagar and Gujarat University in Ahmedabad.
