In scenes seldom seen in western parts of the city, a group of bootleggers armed with swords and lathis stormed Shivam Arcade, a posh society in Ghatlodia, on Sunday night. The incident occurred after residents questioned two men about their presence in a flat rented by alleged bootlegger Ravi Thakor.
Vishnu Patel, chairman of the society, stated in his FIR that flat no. B/205, owned by Pankaj Ishwar Patel, had been vacant for some time. On Sunday evening, the society chairman, along with secretary Narenkumar Patel and treasurer Hasmukh Patel, noticed two men leaving the flat. When questioned, the men claimed to have rented the flat but refused to provide further details.
