The state on Sunday launched the reformulated 'State Policy for Gender Equity- 2024' by broadening its scope of work to ensure inclusive development and empowerment of women and girls.
A state-level committee chaired by the Chief Secretary has also been set up to periodically review the policy and provide necessary directions for its effective implementation, the government said in a release.
The 'Naari Gaurav Niti' was first formulated and implemented in 2006 under the leadership of then chief minister and current Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the release said. It is crucial for the empowerment and economic upliftment of women in the state.
